From the minute my dad saw him in the Community Shield he instantly hated him and his "damn stupid hair". I was then warned, from father to son, never to get my hair into a "poncy fin". When Smith scored his goal my dad dismissed it as fluke. Today he cheered every time Smith fell over or gave it away - which was often. He then asked me where this guy I seemed to love was. When I informed him Owen had transferred to Real Madrid, and was also on the pitch, he laughed and said football is stupid. We both concurred that football is a poncy sport compared to rugby. We then agreed Alan Smith would get decked by any rugby player.

Then we had some beer.

Don't start talking about Robbie. I'll well up, and then I'll think about Mikey and then it's tears and gnashing of the teeth until sunset. Not a pretty sight.
