Anyway, I thought it took 10 mins to get ram fitted at SR??
Oh well, anything exciting happen?? Probably not, but it's still good to be back.
Thanks for reading, Ant.
How did you manage to fit 128 MB RAM, surely it's a lot for you to carry around (in your shell?).
Oh - and I suppose they were "dimms"!
1) Check you have enough spaces in which to put the ram look for a gap with 3 holes one large the other large then a smaller one.. Quite easy to find.
2) Get compatible ram (do a bit of looking and checking but most will be DIMMs) Approximate time- buy in shop (5mins at least depending on how long you get there and back and get the ram to 10 days buying online inc. delivery)
3) Get RAM.
4) Turn of Computer (maybe unplug cables) Get screwdriver
5) Remove case of PC
6) Look for the slot with 3 holes in it and pull back those things that hold it in
7) Push RAM into slot - it can only go in one way
8) Secure RAM by pressing those clipper type things
9) Plug in essential cables
10) CHeck whether worked.. either look at beginning of start up or wait till get in windows and look under control panel - systems
11) If worked close case with screws
12) Put your thumbs up its done and ready to use!
Approxiamate time = 10 mins max (mine took 7)
Not that person again...
