Im sure most of you who regulate this forum have some sort of IT-based job, so... what is it you do?

Web designer, programmer, system admin, network specialist, build computers... blah blah. Or do you use your computer for doing some other sorta work, like video editting, making spreadsheets or simply using Word?

Just curious.

Also, anyone know... anyone who uses 3D Studio Max?

I'm a games tester. Yes, really. At the moment I mainly test and do a bit of production work, I hope to move into production/design or maybe even programming for the next project. The pay sucks and the hours are insane (60 hour weeks are commonplace), but it's a great job.

Tyla - seems like youve worked hard for your position, ive always thought id have to do something similar and so just been looking for that first step which I cant seem to find because...

adrian - yep, same. Looking for computer kinda work round here is hard since I live in a small-ish town. Really hard looking for the kinda work I want to do round here.

Guess ive got a few more years though, learning loads of stuff. Nice to know the things you guys have told me in here though.

Walked straight into it from a previous job.

Took the indorect route into it...

Started off as a mechanical Engineer/Draughtsman suing AutoCad etc, from there, went on to become a warehouse manager, then from there, I managed toland a 12 week trial as a Graphic Designer with a tiny PR firm. After 12 months there, found my last job which I had been if for thelast 5 years.

Have no formal quals apart from A level Art history, Music and Photography and a couple of G&G's in HTML & Autocad. Just worked my butt off to get where I am.

Depend of the size of the project. Anywhere between 7 days and 6 months!

I study computer science at uni.

Not sure what I want to do when I leave. Would like to get into making computer games or maybe even animated films but have no idea what I would need to do for a job like that.

Just wait till next year when I have to go job hunting I guess. :-)

10/10
Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Very pleased
Very pleased with the help given by your staff. They explained technical details in an easy way and were patient when providing information to a non expert like me.
