Why? Because club bias shouldn't come into European football. It's an English club out there. The only time I've ever wanted an English team to lose in Europe it was Arsenal, and that was only because I prefer Chelsea to them. We all want an English club to lift the trophy, or at least to do well.
So Liverpool shall win tonight. I'm not exactly scared of the Austrian double-winners. Benitez has been doing the "let's not underestimate them" usual press junket, but let's be honest. Liverpool have the talent to streamroller these boys.
Of course, there's going to be the 'big deal' of Owen starting or not. But if he doesn't, doesn't mean he's going to Madrid. Anyway, Cisse and Baros isn't exactly a strike partnership to be ashamed of. I'm going to be more interested to see who starts at right-back. The sensible money is on Josemi, but I'm a fan of Stevie Finnan. Great attacking full-back. I'd like to see him in action.
So fingers crossed and let's hope Didi Hamann doesn't f**k up too much. Eh?
> And I've always liked Baros, I'd like to point out.
:^D
I'm sure every Liverpool fan in the land will say that if he performs like he did at Euro '04.
And if he does, then I can see a fair few goals being scored for you.
Yeah, it's going to good to see Cisse in action, the blonde behemoth. And I've always liked Baros, I'd like to point out.
Yes, 4 minutes apart.
> Who've Juve got?
Djurgardens something or other from Sweden.
Hopefully we won't fecker it up, but there you go.
(Yus, Djurgardens spelled right and everything)
Michael Owen also seems unlikely to play, even though there's a minute chance of defeat here, now that Houllier's gone. I'll also be looking to see how you do without him. Should Milan Baros feature, I'd like to see how he has changed, following the summer's chart-topping success in goal-scoring.
I don't like Milan Baros, though. Well, like you with Alan Smith and Man United fans, I don't agree with how everyone has suddenly taken a great liking to him because of Euro 2004, even though he was slated-off again-and-again throughout the last league campaign. :P
And I'll probably be watching West Ham on Sky 1 whilstr listening to Leeds on the radio rather than watching Kewell and the scouse wonders take over europe.
Though, admitedly, the Owen saga shall take an interesting turn one way or the other tonight.
I'd love to see him on the bench, and come on in the 90th, just to annoy the press who think they've got their back page written.
Aye, shall be watching. Unless Eurosport are showing Juve, but I don't think they are.
Hopefully Liverpool can come out with a good win.
