Was this inspired by Timmargh, by any chance?
Anyhow, I was looking at getting an iPod mini until I did an size count on my music storage; a gigabyte too much, so it looks like I won't be able to play music while wearing the player on my arm (using the armband thingy).
So, the iPod it is, and a question for those who own one - does it support transfer of ordinary data files in addition to music? I've seen a program called iOrganzier, which works on Macs, but what about for Windows?
And how are the headphones?
One more thing, has the iPod ever crashed while playing? My previous music players (the small, flash card ones) crashed now and again, and it was annoying having to take the battery out just to switch it off for a reset.
I don't know what's up then. It doesn't bother me, as iTunes does everything I need anyway.
Meh.
BTW, it's a built-in firewire port, not a card, so anything required should be there already..
Hmm... the only thing I can think of is whether or not your Firewire card has a VIA chipset, if it doesn't then that normally means there's going to be problems.
Can you see it in Device Manager when you plug it in?
Hmm... what OS are you using?
Is it cos I is using Firewire?

I did smile when I saw their company name a year or so ago. I might get one of these: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powermate/

The iPod Mini is nice and dinky, but an extra £40 for five times as much storage is just too much of a temptation.

On the Mac the iPod appears on the desktop just like any external drive and files can be dragged and dropped on it the same way. Don't know about Windows though, but I'd assume it's the same.
