I recently received instruction from a senior manager at work, asking me to throw a few figures together, think outside the box, and get back to him by COP, and he'd touch base with me tomorrow, as this had been on his radar for some time.
Confused by his a***-talk, I stuck a few numbers on a spreadsheet, printed it out, then called the police to ask if they'd deliver the report for me.
Image my embarrassment when I found out that COP was an acronym for Close of Play and he didn't mean an officer of the law at all!
