A big thank you to all that have made suggestions. A winner will be announced shortly. Watch this space...
This time we are after suggestions of who might want to advertise with us.
As I write there is an E-bay banner showing on screen. E-bay pay us to advertise those banners.
In total we display 2.7 million banner impressions per month. We would like to sell 40 to 50% of these to other companies who might like to advertise on our site. This would still give us 1.35 million banners to sell our own product range.
If you are the first to make a suggestion, and we subsequently sell advertising to that company within the next three months, then you will win an Extra Gameaday prize.
Companies that we already sell to don't count (don't ask, i can't give you a list).
Banners are sold for about £5 per thousand. If you want to actually sell some for us (to somebody you know) then let webmaster know. The commission is 10% (less tax if you are not self-employed). I'm not suggesting that you start cold-calling around the internet!
To recap - you need to suggest the name of a Company who might want to buy advertising on our site. The best way to identify potential candidates is to see adverts on other sites that you think would work well on this site.
So, for example, you might go to Totalgames.net and see an Intel Pentium 4 banner. You need to give us:
The name of the company (e.g. Intel)
Where you saw their advert (e.g. Totalgames.net)
What they were advertising (e.g. Pentium 4)
DON'T show names of our direct competitors.
DON'T suggest other similar retailers (such as HMV)
DON'T include "internal banners" i.e those advertising a product for sale on the same site as the banner. (e.g. we advertise lots of the products we sell in banners - these are internal banners).
Happy hunting!!!!
See you at the end of May
(both April Extra Filmaday and Extra Gameaday will be decided on Tuesday May 1st. Extra Gameaday for promotional ideas is still being sifted by Mark and that will take a while)

I am still awaiting my application form for that. Can you look into it, please?

These are two sites linked to the SR website in a way. On SR, people write reviews to help other people. On these two, people write reviews to help other people and win money. This i think would work, as it is not competition, people can put their reviews on both sites. I know I do!
Other suggestions include:
www.tucows.com
This is a place where you can download desktop themes etc. No competition, but still computer related!
www.planetarion.com
I mean, a lot of the SR posse go on it anyway, and it is a good link to SR. Plus, their current banners are so boring. Downside is they are from all over the world!

Thats my website, any chance of me putting some SR banners on it? :)
www.aucland.co.uk
www.loot.com
Just to name a few that should be used....

Why dont you do a link to a Games Offical web page as part of the links attached to games?
