Dringo done a post about controllers and how they can improve, then I had an idea about consoles improving.
Yes, specs will improve with every new console that comes out, but what else will change with the console?
Design: Over the years we have had many, many different looking consoles. The best would been, IMO, the N64. It wasn’t great, just the best of the rest. The Playstation2 doesn’t look like a model or anything, far from it. People have made fun of the design and saying things like “It looks like a book end”. I think that it has been the most imaginative though. The sliding out of the tray is a good idea for a gaming console. Apart from that nothing else is too original.
So, what else could improve future consoles?

Yeah, right. I could list many great games that are out, but I've done it sooooo many times that I can't be bothered.
Are you stressed, edgy?? Or just feeling totally biased today??
Actually, it could well have been a genuiine PS2, now I come to think about it....
It looks nothing like a toaster!
But the PS2 is still rubbish! The fact that there aren't many games on the shelves proves that!

But seemingly I remember you and many other Ninty fans saying, "But the PS2 looks like a toaster!!" About 100 times.

It doesn't matter if it's original or not. Sony used the slide out try instead of the flip up lid because with the flick up lid the laser could attract mor dust and it was meant to be easily damaged but with the slide out tray the laser isn't visible so it won't get covered in dust and ait shouldn't get damaged (unless someone decides to stick a screwdriver in it.

In fact with the unit my brother's got for his N64 (Which can also be used for a PSX) you can't even see the console!

Would be good as long as they don't make a Pokemon cover! :D
