Which has the best solo?
I'm really torn, but I think I'd have to go for Zeppelin's Achilles Last Stand. It just pips it in my opinion.
So - thoughts?
Anyone who has heard the extended version of Eruption will vouch for that.
It drags on a little, at over 3 minutes long, but it's class, although does it really count as a solo, seeing as it's a solo the whole way through?
Mean Streets (Left out of their new album for ome odd reason), Hot For Teacher and Running with teh Devil also have some good solos.
And it's a much better song anyway... much better to play live, the drumming rocks all and the lyrics are, while not the greatest ever, very very cool. Zeppelin at their tightest as a group, I'd say. Shame the rest of Presence isn't that good... but still, if they were capable of doing a song like that just before Bonham died, then you've gotta wonder what we might have missed..
Best solo ever? I'm really not sure, hard to judge that one. I've always had a slight bias towards Pink Floyd with that though, Shine on, Comfortably Numb... Fat Old Sun was great too, but yeah.
Best solo ever is Dry County incidentally.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAHHHAAAAAAA!
