I'm now up to lvl 6..currently in a massive war zone in one of the mines. Fun indeed.
Christ - I've just worked out that, if they have 250,000 people paying £8.99 per Month, they're going to rake in £2,247,500 each Month!

You could always head up through the Wetlands , in the direction of the Undercity, although even you'd get raped in the Wetlands as you would need to steer away from the 'safe' path.
Also, you can get a ship from Menethil Harbor which takes you over to the other island, not far from the Crossroads. Menethil Harbore can also take you to Darkshore, which you can use to get to Oggrimmar (I think).
