Round 11 of 18 is in Silverstone and we still haven't had a two time race winner this season. Baumgartner's 2nd place in France takes him 6 points clear of the pack. Will anyone be able to catch him? The Constructors Championship and the Prediction Championships are beginning to bunch up. There is still a long way to go.

http://www.freewebs.com/gpsr/srf1.htm for the current driver line up. Please check the site as not everyone I mention in the preview is racing this year!

Let's have a check of the qualifying from last year. It was Frentzen on the back of a dismal year that took pole position ahead of the Champion to be Ralf Firman. Times were really bunched up at the front.

Out of the drivers within 10 points of the lead in this years Championship, Villeneuve qualified in 9th and Ralf Schumacher qualified 3rd.

The race saw Ralf Firman take the advantage of Frentzen throwing his car into the wall and gave himself a home victory, well on his way to the Drivers title. He managed to hold off the challenge of Ralf Schumacher and Raikkonen, who were 2nd and 3rd.

Out of this year's contenders, I already mentioned Ralf Schumacher finishing 2nd but Villeneuve had an early spin and couldn't recover so finished 12th.

Here is some more information that might be of use:

Lap Records:
Qualifying: 1m20.366s - Button (Renault) Set in 2002
Race: 1m21.656s - Verstappen (Minardi) Set in 2003

Previous Winners:
2002 - Villeneuve (B.A.R)
2003 - Firman (Jordan)

Top 3 Qualifying last year:
1st Frentzen (Sauber)
2nd Firman (Jordan)
3rd R Schumacher (Williams)

Top 3 Race last year:
1st Firman (Jordan)
2nd R Schumacher (Williams)
3rd Raikkonen (McLaren)

Top 3 Drivers after Round 11 last year:
1st Alonso 45pts (NOT RACING THIS YEAR!)

3rd Villeneuve 39pts

Top 3 Constructors after Round 11 last year:
1st Renault 74pts
2nd B.A.R 72pts
3rd Jordan 68pts

Okay, onto the prediction questions. Mike Swade took the win in France in what was a low scoring race and the gap was cut from 12 to 7. Der Nazi has had the lead from the start. Will he be overtaken?

Remember that some of the drivers racing last year aren't in this year's Championship!

Nah... I'd say the opposite. You should have 50 points taken away to prove what a great champion you are... I mean, after being minused 50 points and still winning the season, nobody could deny your greatness.

Shame... That will never happen. :)

I think, as champion, I should be given some free points. Like, 50'll do.
