This time, I figured I wouldn't go quite as far into the future, so I popped on over to see what happened at Wrestlemania 30, live from Wembly Stadium, as the WWE abandoned the struggling American market and decided to concentrate on it's UK operation.
Here's what went down
Opening match:-
The Pebble vs Hardcore Holly - The Rock's youngest son made his debut the week prior to Wrestlemamia, challengin 30 year veteran Bob Holly to a match at 'mania. Holly ever eager to teach a young 'punk' a lesson accepted the offer and got his ageing butt handed to him, courtesy of a 'pebble-buster'
Pension on a pole match - Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair vs Randy Savage vs Sting. The WWE's elder statesmen took weach other on in match which made Hardcore Holly look fluid. All 4 men were bearly mobile at this point and the match dragged as a result. Hogan got the duke after the leg-drop of doom on all three men, which took so long to do, it made wrestling look like the work it is. Hogan, as a result, is now the only one of the three who can collect his pension this year. In a tragic twist of circumstances, Sting died of freezing to death a week later because he could no longer afford his heating
Tag Team Title Match
'La Resistance' vs The FBI
La resistance, now in their 49th incarnation and featuring none of the original members, finally lost the tag team title after a four year reign to the FBI, now in their 57th incarnation and also featuring no original members (apart from now manager Nunzio) when Nunzio hit Rene Depardieux with the Italian Flag. The result of this match had severe ramifications as France declared War on the 'cheating Italians, with the back of the EU. France promptly ran away and let the rest of the EU fight their battle for them
Main Event - World Champion Triple H vs WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs WWE Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs WWE Disputed Champion Chavo Guerrero
In the first ever collision of Raws champion, smackdown's champion, Heat's champion and Velocity's champion Triple H cme out on top...some things never change.
Finally, Vince McMahon was wheeled out to ringside by Linda, for a 'monumental announcement'. He declared that he was finally stepping down as owner of the company, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H made their way to the ring each putting forward their case for the business being made theres. Vince declared that he couldn't trust any of them and that he was ashamed to call them family, before announcing that he was handing control of the company to the one man who knows the business better than anyone else in the world...EUGENE!!!
And with that, we went off air!
