The legacy of mystical Sveldan!

The day was young, my eyes where tired, and it is the start of a new beginning. Well, tomorrow it is, because we are moving out of Caldwell creek, and are off to Crag Avenue. That’s right, we’re moving house!

My name is Alec, and I am from the tricity household. I live with my mum, Linda, and my dad roger, and my sister lizzy.

We have lived in Caldwell creek all my 14 years of life, and we are moving to a larger house to make room for our new baby, Becky!

Dad has a new job as an archaeologist, and we are moving from Lowestoft to Kent. I am off to school for the final time, and will dearly miss all of my friends and teachers, that I will be leaving behind.

We are now on the 2-hour journey, and my sister lizzy is cramming up the back seat of the car with her dolls, and I feel like I’m going too be sick. I am not good with long journeys, and the sooner we reach our new home the better.

We have now arrived; I am going to explore the house. The walls are derelict and it is not very spacious upstairs. The over looking field is full of lush green grass and towering tree’s, and the creek of the garage door adds a bit of mystery to the whole arrival.

The area is filled with beauty, and I am enjoying our new apartment. After many hours of exploring the new house, searching through old cupboards and finding mysterious photo’s, I heard a swoosh noise and saw a white ghost-like object fly cross the window. I was somewhat confused, and I paced over to the window to look outside, but there was nothing there.

I stared out of the window for a few moments, peering into the prestigious garden of next-door. However, all my brain was really focusing on what I had just saw.

Was it a ghost?
Was it a spirit from the past?
Was I just imagining things?

The latter of which is most likely, but I couldn’t help wondering if I really had seen a flying object, or was my brain just lost in an illusional fantasy, and my eyes had deceived me, but I could not help thinking that I really had seen the impossible.

As dad called us for dinner, he proudly announced that our first day in the new house would be celebrated with Chinese. Not focusing much, I was still pondering over what I had seen earlier this afternoon. Trying to forget what had happened, Lizzy suddenly queried if I would like to look in the garage. I agreed.

We ventured deep intro the garden, and then approached the garage. I withdrew the key from my pocket and turned the lock, and a massive screech occurred as I opened the door. What we saw was amazing.

I started munching on a Nutri-grain, with the strawberry inside somewhat squashed and the bar was way out of date. I spat the bar out, and we suddenly heard a groan. We where amazed, as my younger sister flung her arms around me, we ventured further through the garage. Knocking aside old chairs, and annoying bluebottles flying through the air, we noticed something in the corner.

Sitting beside a toilet, some form of life was sitting beside it. He was wearing ragged clothes, had a beard as long as a broom and appeared to be in deep sleep.

AH! My sister screamed, and the figure awoke.

“Who is it?” a very groaned voice said

“We live here, who are you?” I asked, as my heart pounded.

The man let out several coughs.

“I want food…” He retorted

The “Thing” appeared to be slim and had not eaten in months, possibly years, and occasionally nodded off to sleep.

My sister was shaking heavily as I bravely continued the conversation.

“Would you like some food” I asked, withdrawing the rest of the Nutri grain I had earlier been enjoying.

“There you go,” I grumbled, as I passed him the Nutri grain.

“My name is sveldan” he mumbled, as he let out some more groans and sneezed over my shirt.

“ My name is Alec, Alec tricity” I nervously replied, as my sister laughed as always when I said my full name

“27 and 53” he yelled, several times.

“Pardon” I rebuked

“27 AND 53” he choked out as he began to groan again.

I was somewhat confused by what he was requesting, but then I saw hime point inside my pocket, where our menu for Chinese was half sticking out of my jumper pocket.

“Oh right, okay, you want, Chinese” I confusingly blurted out

“Please” he grumbles, as he appeared to nod off.

I heard a call from dad, where he asked us what we wanted for dinner.

Lizzy and I slowly backed out slowly, as lizzy nervously whispered:

“He’s got wings!”

I looked round and amazed as I was, the decayed figure of Sveldan appeared to indeed posses wings!

Lizzy and me exited the garage, still thinking about Sveldan, and how it must all be a dream…

We Returned to our “house”- (if you could call it that) and I ordered 27, 53 and 68 (a little something for myself)

Father returned around 25 minutes later, carrying two plastic bags of boxed food. I teared into a box, and the smell was just gorgeous. I watched my sister munch away at her food, all the time slightly shaking as she was still pondering on the day’s earlier events.

I pulled “A sickie” declaring I was too ill to finish my food and headed for the Wheelie-bins on the driveway. I quickly sneaked into the garage and gave sveldan his dinner.

“um 27 and 53, Spring rolls, Um, food of the gods”

Sveldan continued to scoff down his dinner, his first in ages he announced. I was still glaring at his figure- And those wings, why did he posses wings?

I then foolishly asked him what he was, but he declined to answer and curled up into a ball around the toilet, clearly content on not revealing his past.

A new day awakened me, rubbing my eyes to check it wasn’t a dream- or a nightmare!

I headed to the garage, half dressed, as I looked into the garage to check on Sveldan. He was still squatted up into a round ball, still sleeping, a indicator he might just be mortal- or even a disfigured human being- ONE OF US!

I went to school for the first time, the whole time daydreaming about Sveldan, and the white “ghost” that flew past, could they be related, the whole idea puzzled me.

It seemed like a millennium, but when the bell finally rang I darted off home.

I grabbed Lizzy Tricity and we looked into the garage, knocking aside any cobwebs or bluebottles from our faces, but then it happened- SVELDAN HAD VANISHED!

Having no time too observe, Dad rushed us in for help as New-born Becky was being sick all across the table, My heart pounding though, and my mind was still focused on Svledan.

Suddenly I saw a white figure fly across the sky, his hand performing a swirl, and then he vanished. Surely it had to be Sveldan.

When Becky was announced “Fine” by the doctors, dad drove us home. After Falling asleep, we arrived home about an hour later, the sky pitch black.

“Ten minutes and then your lights are out”

Desperately wanting to see if sveldan had returned. I shouted out that I had left my jacket in the garage, and my dad, as gullible as he is, fell for it, and I headed to the garage.

I searched the area, and found no trace of Sveldan, but an envelope on the floor addressed to “Alex Twicitie” which, I presumed was me.

I headed back to my bed and dad turned the light out, I laid there for a few minutes, and tore open the envelope, Flicking the lamp on simultaneously. In slurred, italic writing, it said:

Dear Alex,

Thank you for all your help and getting me food. I was kicked aside and left alone by the houses previous owners, and I am very grateful for your help.

With your food and other kind generosity, I was able to escape this terrible land, and return to wear I really belong. I am not a human, merely a spirit, but my decayed figure has kept me alive and in contact.

I am most grateful once again for your help, and I will miss you, friend…

Yours gratefully,

Sveldan
