Who would you vote for manager of the season??

I would personally say George Burley at Ipswich - He has done quite a remarkable job bringing them from division 1 to europe hopefulls - If it wasnt for Liverpool chasing the third champions league place I would love to see Ipswich claim it - They have been a credit to the premiership this season, however I doubt they will repeat themselves next year!!

I would vote for Martin O`neil as manager of the year in Scotland for doing a great job at Celtic. Dick Advocaat deserves an award for what he`s done to rangers, and Ebbe Skovdahl has proved a good manager at Aberdeen by bringing through some excellent young players and clearing out the dead wood.Alex Mcleish has combined classy foreigners with his home based players to make Hibernian challengers for trophies and they have a UEFA cup place secured. In England Gerard "Mad eyes " Houllier has been excellent and George Burley has proved you can build a team without having to spend fortunes, but I would choose David O `Leary as manager of the year in England for building a team to challenge in Europe while doing the buisness in the league. He also took a massive gamble on signing big money transfers which have worked out and his team started the season with a lot of injuries while some players were missing due to a court case.

I think it was probably a joke. Mr Snuggly is most likely a Chelsea fan. Either that, or he's just trying to spark up some controversy.

I would say Gerard Houllier. Cup competitions are notoriosly difficult, and the consistent form needed to excel in so many of them outlines an outstanding achievement. Liverpool have also done the double over Man Utd this season - a virtually unheard of occurence. Whilst George Burley has done well with Ipswitch, I think Houllier's is the greater achievement, considering liverpool were very much a mid-table team before he arrived.

Ther's only two candidates; Gerard "cup collector" Houllier and George Burley. Considering the resources he works with, my vote goes to the Portman Road Messiah.

Traditionally it is the manager of the league champions that collects the manager of the year award. However, it is not often that a 'small' team excells in the manner that Ipswich have this season. Ipswich have spent very little yet look like finishing third in the table. A fantastic achievement by George Burley and he gets my vote.
