Yes it seems that in an attempt to keep Rooney at the Toffee's, David Moyes is going to make youngster Wayne Rooney the club captain.

In my oppinion this is stupid! He's 18 for god's sake, no age to be captain of a team!

Oppinions?

So that is why Woking, who I follow, seem all over the place is it?

On some levels I agree, E_B, our captian is generally Ian Selley, and even though he has plenty of experience (Won the Cup Winners Cup with Arsenal) he just doesn't talk. And for that matter, nobody talks in defence. We have let in vast amounts of goals this season due to having plenty of able players that just seem to be void of communication.

Not just the captain of a team needs to talk, but players all over the pitch, and I agree that Rooney doesn't do that enough to warrant the captains armband. And then there is the lack of experience, his occasional hot headed lunges, his...

I can't see it working.

Cole at West Ham made a good captain because he led by example. Rooney is too hot-headed but quiet with it.

You need a good, talker, type, person to be captain.

No, he won't, they are still relishing in their "above average" season from 2002/03, and besides, I firmly believe that Everton will be wallowing in mid-table obscurity come Christmas.

Well if Wakka can skipper the Celtic side at the tender age of 14, then I'm sure Wayne can....

Ok within a few seasons, but still he'll be about 22 max then, and if he's still at Everton do you think players like Graveson and Stubbs will listen to some overweight, spotty little teenager/early 20's?

No, they won't.

Making Rooney captain will only make the club go downhill. He's not got years of experience. Do you think somebody 10 years older with plenty of experience going to take orders from a kid?

A captain must be good at organising thing when 1-0 ahead or 1-0.

Moyes will be gone before christmas.
