Just put this in the XBox forum, didn't know if that was the right place for it, so I'm gonna put it here too.
I have recently got a new PC and installed Windows XP pro on it, but I still need to activate the damn thing, now that would all be fine and dandy, but the only problem is that I have a *ahem* backuped version of it. Now I know that my friend has already registered his CD key and that is the same one that I am using.
When I try and activate it over the internet it says it is unable to connect, and I don't really want to phone up some Micro$hite twit so has anyone got any ideas of how to activate it?

Phone them up, you get an automated message then you just use the buttons on the phone to enter the product key. If it says that it cant recognise it and heaven forbid, send you through to a real person, you just tell them the number and they do it for you.
