Planning to get it since i haven't bothered on watching it on Sky because of the pesky ad breaks 5 mins in. BBC should get the rights back

But since I havent been watching it and avoiding all contact with any 24 subjects so I wont ruin my planned marathon watch of all the DVDs in one day.

Could someone whos been watching it please give it a rating or something, or say if its worth buying

Blockbuster's web site rents out box sets BUT you have rent one disk at a time, so for 24 you're looking at 7 discs, at 4.20 a time...you may as well just buy them!

Got my season 3 boxset on Saturday and have been watching a bit each day that I've had the time (Crappy weather has given me more time too which is good)

Top stuff so far, glad I didn't watch it on tv now wouldn't like to have missed any episodes along the way. Also not sure if I could have waited a week between them :-)

Havent seen any of the 3 seasons of 24 so I will be buying the season 1 - 3 boxset which is coming out and is £74.99 from Amazon. Pretty good as yout talking just under £25 per season. Did download all of season 3 but hadnt seen season 1 or 2 so waited to watch them, so getting the big boxset will be brilliant.

Im not sure if I really felt i got a good deal though with dishing out 30 quid for something I'll only watch once or twice.

I doubt any rental store lets you rent boxsets that are very long. I mean the minimum available time to rent 24 series 3 boxset would have to be about a week really, with that being watching at least 2.5 hours a day.

Series 3 is better than series 1 but not, so far with only two episodes to go, as good as season 2. Just does not have the sense of urgency that there was in 2.

To me it's kind of like you have to tough out a group of 4-5 episodes which seem repetitive (ones in Mexico/wherever) but get through them and the story is back on track, there are also some plot sidelines which just have you thinking "which moron decided to put that in" etc

I'd rather Sky kept it - in fact they have season 4 already anyway - because they don't edit it, the BBC has to make it fit a 45 minute timeslot including opening/ending credits, Sky has an hour + adverts (usually around 4 mins adverts), plus the US has always had it with adverts anyway, the ad breaks are built into how the show is structured by the use of the time countdown screens - you'll notice that the time shown before and after the breaks is that of the ad breaks give or take a few seconds, it's all part of it.

BBC also messes around for every stupid sports event going, last season had 2 large gaps for Snooker/Wimbledon/athletics, Sky even had the brains to, when it clashed with England playing, move the time slot to after the match! I don't want three week gaps part way through the season, I want them regular like!

Series 3 is just as good as the other two, another fantastic thrilling series it really is. Before I saw it I wondered if they could create another great series, or whether it would be just going through the motions, but they nailed it.

I remember after I'd found out that it had been on in America for quite a few weeks before I realised it was on, so I undertook a massive downloading task, and managed to watch about 6 episodes back to back, it's that compelling.

Buy the dvd boxset, watch the whole series in one go, you know you want to.
