Be great to see Kirkland as Liverpool No.1 and England No.1 as James aint much to write home about and we seem keen to get rid of Dudek, but James didn't have an awful tournment. We all seen some excellent saves from him. But he is always prone to the odd 'howler' more than most keepers. Kirkland would be a great long or short term replacement for James if he stops becoming injury prone.
Robinson is the best English keeper we have.
Kirkland could be a top 5 goalie if he gets fit and more experience, robinson will not.
That is the reason why you signed him completely uncontested for 2mil. the top teams like arsenal aren't prepared to go for him as they'd rather gamble for the elite (and are failing at the mo)
I love the way that as soon as Robinson comes to Spurs, he's suddenly branded as 'nothing sepcial'....
Ali's right, he was behind the worst defence in the Premierhip by a mile last year, yet stood out enough to be chased by Spurs, along with Newcastle....
As for Kirkland, what the hell has he done? He has been set back injury after injury since signing for Liverpool yet Robinson who has been behind on of the worst defences and the worst midfield in the Premiserhip yet still shown what an excellent kepper he is, not just as a shot stopper like David James but also someone who when he coems for the ball you know he won't c*ck it up.
I sometimes wonder if people watch the same games.
Once Kirkland gets some games under his belt he'll be the number one.
Cudicini (completely immoral but everyone else does it! now eligible! and quite clearly the best by a country mile. I could take the cheat and foreigner jokes)
Robinson is the primary choice as he is actually playing regular football and is pretty good.
Kirkland is actually the more talented keeper, but shouldn't be first choice till he is playing regularly.
Green we have to see how he works out in the prem.
I wouldn't rush it. just leave James for a season see how it goes. if the worst comes to the worst he'll be 35/36 at the world cup. And he is a lot fitter and better built than, Martyn, Seaman, and shilton who were all keeping later into their careers for england.
Personally i'd try and get Kirkland involved but thats completely dependent on liverpool. Robinnson wouldn't let us down at all, but i'd be more pleased to have Kirkland.
Oh, you idiot
