Be great to see Kirkland as Liverpool No.1 and England No.1 as James aint much to write home about and we seem keen to get rid of Dudek, but James didn't have an awful tournment. We all seen some excellent saves from him. But he is always prone to the odd 'howler' more than most keepers. Kirkland would be a great long or short term replacement for James if he stops becoming injury prone.

On what level? As a shot stopper, his positioning and his ability to read the game to a level where you know he is going to c*ck up like James, he is quite simply the best English keeper at the moment and has been ever since he broke into the Leeds team. I have practically followed him since he broke through the youth setup and aside from maybe 2 games since he broke through into the Leeds team (one of them a reserve game against Villa in 2001) he has been one of the clubs best players, the Champions League run included.

Would this be the same England manager who carts Heskey the horse around every where he goes? The same England manager who refuses to play Dyer despite him being more than capable to fill in left side and at the very least to bring on as a sub. The same England manager who played Scholes 25 games back to back despite putting in shocking performances. He stuck with Beckham despite his poor form when he should have at least dropped out for a game like Big Phil did with Figo, it worked perfectly. Our current England manager doesn't even deserve to be there anymore, England have had two major championships which have been mainly to blame on Mr. Lets bring defenders on in a game we need to push and grab a second in to kill it off.

Lets not get down to how many games we watch and follow because with the old nationwide and conference included I went to more than 60 games alone last season between Leeds, Newcastle and Halifax Town. The former and latter because of my dad and local support.

Okay, bit harsh, but at the start of the season he really wasn't much.

So? Surely that should also give him a chance to shine, making some occasionally brilliant saves. I don't watch every Leeds match, but I watch(ed) match of the day every week and I don't recall one particularly outstanding save. Yes he is liable to make one or two mistakes, but to be a national keeper (which is, on the hole, what we are debating) you have to be solid, and Robison was far from that last season.

I already said that on some levels I support putting him ahead of James, because to be quite frank, in comparison to most other top flight keepers, England have nobody. I personally think the most on form keeper would be Nigel Martyn. Oh, and dont lash out in an attempt to insult my knowledge. I watch in excess of 40 games a season following Woking FC up and down the country, and whenever there is football on TV, I'm often there. Most people with little footballing knowledge would see that Robison is the best English keeper at the moment? So you claim to know more about football than the England manager? Don't make me laugh.

Awful?

You can only laugh at such a retarded comment. He was behind the worst midfield and arguably the worst defence in the Premiership.

I can't believe you can judge Robinson on last season, although anyone with a tiny bit of common sense would take into account what he had to face last season, most people with a little knowledege of football would see that he is the best English keeper at the moment.

As I said earlier I don't know what games some people watch.

Towards the end of the season Robinson started to improve, but at the beginning he was awful, and comparably dodgy to James. He made mess-ups against Liverpool and other teams, and whilst on some levels I'd support putting him ahead of James, he isn't worth much more than £2million (then again, a good buy for Spurs, don't even get me started on Keller). I stand by us not having any decent, consistent national keepers at the moment. I was a bit annoyed when Nigel Martyn didn't make the England squad. I don't care how old he is, he had a better season than most other English keepers.
