Quick question:

Took monday and tue off ill

Worked wednesday

Took thurs and today off ill too.

Do I need a doctors note as I didn't have 3 consecutive days off ill? :S

+ today was supposed to be my last day anyway but I don't want to get any wages docked.

Yeah there's no mention of it in my contract at all so I guess it's whatever the standard one is.

It's normally stated in your terms and conditions in your contract.

Therefore, what applies to one person may not necessarily apply to you.

Yeah, phoned them every day I was ill. Just gotta return some stuff tomorrow.

I think the best bet would be to phone your employer and sort out all the details. You should contact them whenever you're ill, so that they know that you're on the verge of death and not in a strip club in Soho.

You only need a doctors sick note if you are absent for more than 7 consecutive days (Including the weekends). For less than 7 days absence you need to provide a self certification sick note.

However, as you were off for 2 days then back for 1 and off for the next 2 ( and presumably the weekend too), if you aren't back on monday, you may find that you need to have a sick note signed from the doctor. I think it depends if the reason for absence on the first 2 days is the same as the second period of absence.

I would check with either your local surgery or your companies Human resources department.

You don't need a sick note unless you're absent for more than 7 days if I remember rightly.

SSP covers the first 7.
