Like Ninjax said, RR is not as graphicaly good as AA, but will last you longer and you will get more enjoyment out of it.
Another opinion is CUBE magazine giving Aphalt Assult a 4.1 and Ridge Racer a 7.8.
if you want to impress your friends with visuals go 4 AA but if you want to impress with gameplay and overall style go for RR its a no-brainer!

Anyway, in case you didn't notice me saying this;
"AA is graphicly better, but the overall best is RR. The driving in AA is not very realistic. Don't bother getting AA, wait untill RR comes out."
