Whilst enjoying my usual lazy skysports watching, my eye's were dirtied by that hole called anfield.

They were holding a press conference and they are announcing steven Gerrard is staying at Liverpool. Bolllocks. I really wanted him at chelsea so we could purge the squad a bit and have an awesome british midfield. How very annoying.

Come on Roman! up the cash!

WE want STevie G! we want Stevie G! We want stevie G!

#we'll probably sign rooney (bah don't really want him) as a panic signing so we get our big english name this summer.

I know it was. Hence me saying so.

Perhaps "though" may have been a better choice of word, but I used "if" instead... :)

even if abramovich was busted it wouldn't be a problem. It would screw our golden goose and we'd have a bigger wage bill. but the squad would be worth far more and the players wouldn't be sold. The club would be sold as a whole by the recievers as its more valuable that way, and who ever buys it will have to sustain it. They'll be no shortage of takers for one of the best teams in the world with levelled books and a great young squad.

Virtuouso, please don't get your hopes up. Even if it was a joke.

Frankie, is one of the best midfielders in the premiership, playing at one of the best clubs in the best league in the world, now with a regular England place. He said before Euro 2004, he wants to play out his career at the Bridge.

Can you really see any reason for him possibly leaving.....

Other than Abrahamovic going down for dodgy money and having to sell all of our players of course..... :P

Aye. I'll be honest, I thought he was leaving; although I would never have understood him for doing it. He's decided to stay though, which must have been a hard decision in the end (with Chelsea offering double wages, etc).

You never know, we might start a rumour of Lampard coming to Anfield now =D

You seem to forget the 4-year extension he signed about 8 months ago.

yeah but he blatantly didn't mean it. everyone at a club sucks up to the current manager and its only when they leave the club or the manager gets sacked that the truth comes out.

HE said that "he wasn't happyt with the way the club had been progressing" but in the time he had been back (3 days!!!!!) he had decided the club may have some new direction.

don't blame him at all, you have a chance of improving if you cut some of the crap (and imoho opinion owen). and you should have a reasonable transfer budget (esp if you flogged owen), you could be good. still think you'll finish 4th though unless big players join.

and i guarantee you he leaves.

He has blatantly thought about this:

i am 23 and there isn't a major tournament for 2 years, i am happy in the area and at least i am in the CL no harm in staying one more year. If we don't finish top 3 then i can still make it down to london in time to have a years footy with Frank before the world cup and i'll still be young and chelsea will have gelled a bit more.

No new contract has been signed either!
