Wanadoo is a don't touch.

Pipex, PlusNet, Bulldog are all decent. Freeola actually does a decent half meg connection as well, although the faster ones are a bit pricey.

I'm going with either Pipex or Plusnet - Plusnet is the favourite at the moment. http://www.adslguide.org for the facility to compare ISPs. And yes, stay away from Wanadoo.

And definitely stay away from AOL, like your life depends on it!

Woah, this is exactly the same topic I was gonna start today. And I was going to ask about Wanadoo because they've got adverts everywhere at the moment: "Full speed BB for £177.99 per month!". But then I checked out their site and found this interesting breakdown of possible uses of the 2GB capped limit:

I'm seriously tempted by FREEOLA at the moment, because I have websites and unlimited access would be a good thing. Slightly too pricey, but I know someone who has it and he's never had a problem with it. NTL put me off by their "monkeys-on-chains" customer service, and I think we're etting rid of anything with the NTL logo on in our house because of the useless digital TV box we pay £50 a month for.

Freeserve/Wanadoo and AOL are very good at misleading customers.

I hate AOL with a passion. Did my lecturer get my coursework? No. Did I get his important emails? No. I've never known a service to be so unreliable, and I'm with NTL!

Heh, yeah, NTL ain't gonna win no prizes either!

If you're after BB, check this place out http://www.adslguide.org . That way, you can compare services and find the ISP best for you. I don't know how good FREEOLA are myself, but after researching other ISPs, I'm going for either Pipex or Plusnet.

It's purely for the uploading with FREEOLA, there are a lot of services much cheaper.

...which is quite amusing as I'd recommend NTL to anyone in this area, the service (including customer services) has been top notch.

Just looking into some other stuff connected to BroadBand. Because we've got NTL digital here, we've got NTLworld for the Internet and an NTL phoneline. I reckons I can convinve the parental units to go back to BT for a single phoneline, get a digital Freeview box, and then some sort of BB package. Loads cheaper.
