From what i've heard they are skipping unreal tournament 2005 and are going straight to unreal tournament 2006 and are going to use the unreal 3 engine which is really cool.

If this info is wrong correct me.

The fact that the "mod scene" can't take off properly doesn't mean that the game is a failure.

Oh yes, I'm deadly serious. The fact that the mod scene in 2k4 can't take off properly despite many wonderful offering is a testament to its failure in my opinion.

Whaaaaat?? You can't be serious, Unreal 2004 is one of the most widely played online shooters - a testament to its success.

They wont be making 2005 because theres absolutely no point on the current technology. The 2k* series of Unreal Tournament games has been dire to say the least, I'm sure Epic are praying for UE3 to be a huge hit with the players unlike the current engine. I personally dont forsee them ever regaining the mass popularily of UT99 to be honest, the charms gone.

TBH i dont really know but maybe if they where planning on new 2005 features they will add them with improvements to 2006

Why not just make Unreal tournament 2005 then when the time is right 2006?
