"Message for regulars"

I think that "newbies" generally are treated rather badly, they are given perhaps more 'abuse' than they intirely deserve. Have you guys ever thought that some of the newbies are intimidated by the regulars? They (the newbies) read the topics and then try to write something along the lines of what has preceeded it because they want to conform with the general ideas in the discussions. I'll admit, it is rather annoying when the same argument keeps on rearing its ugly head but the solution is quite simple. Just don't read the darn thread! Another point is this, if you regulars don't care about the game a day prize (etc) then why make such a fuss when a newbie wins it? If these newbies are so annoying then surely you (the regulars) should be happy to take their prize and never darken this web discussion site again.

I'm worried about this natural selection thing Grix mentioned.

I think that we are getting more and more stupid people in the world. Why?

Well, to put it simple, accidents are natures way of ridding us of thick people. With all this added health and safety stuff, hygeine regulations etc, accidents no longer happen as much as they used to.


Hence, more stupid are living longer and breeding. This then means that the amount of stupid people in the world is rising geometrically (if not exponentially) simply because when 2 stupid people breed, and even more stupid person is born.

Think about it. Who's going to marry a stupid person? Only another stupid person. Therefore two stupid peoples genes mixed together will create an even more stupid person.

POWER OF THE SHEEP

I think most "regulars", which from now one, I refuse to write in commary thingys anymore, are fed up with newbies just posting things to try and win gameaday.

We are a family here. We welcome new members, because we like to talk. If people come on here, and make it very obvious that they are trying to win, then it can get irritating.

Ok. All have us have been newbies at one point. With the expection of me, Ant, MWA, and a few others. When people join, the very first thing they will write about, will have something to do with the future of gaming. It's almost natural.

I don't mind that. It's nice to see their views.

BUT.

When they write that, and people write their views, try to poke them in the right direction, what do they do?

They write another topic, about another aspect that is totally unoriginal!

This is when we begin to lose our temper. When people join, we let them make their own impression, we don't make it for them. If their impression is unoriginal, we try to help them. If they ignore our help, then they face the consequences of being no more than someone who only wants to win gameaday, and has no respect for people who use this forum as any other forum.

I visit this forum, because gameaday has attracted some of the most interesting people on the web to it. I have visited other forums, to see what people talk about there, but they are mostly dull and contain very boring people. Here, there is real intelligence in the writing, and it's always interesting to come on, and see what's been happening today.
