A furious light saber duel is underway. DARTH VADER is backing LUKE SKYWALKER towards the end of the gantry. A quick move by Vader, chops off Luke's hand! It goes spinning off into the ventilation shaft. Luke backs away. He looks around, but realizes there's nowhere to go but straight down.
Darth Vader: Obi Wan never told you what happened to your father.
Luke: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
Darth Vader: No... I am your father!
Luke: No, it's not true! It's impossible.
Darth Vader: Search your feelings... you know it to be true...
Luke: NO!
Darth Vader: Yes, it is true.. and you know what else? You know that brass droid of yours?
Luke: Threepio?
Darth Vader: Yes... Threepio... I built him... when I was 7 years old...
Luke: No...
Darth Vader: Seven years old? And what have you done? Look at yourself, no hand, no job, and couldn't even levitate your own ship out of the swamp...
Luke: I destroyed your precious Death Star!
Darth Vader: When you were 20! When I was 10, I single-handedly destroyed a Trade Federation Droid Control ship!
Luke: Well, it's not my fault...
Darth Vader: Oh, here we go... 'Poor me... my father never gave me what I wanted for my birthday... boo hoo, my daddy's the Dark Lord of the Sith...waahhh wahhh!'
Luke: Shut up...
Darth Vader: You're a slacker! By the time I was you're age, I had exterminated the Jedi knights!
Luke: I used to race my T-16 through Beggar's Canyon!
Darth Vader: Oh, for the love of the Emperor... 10 years old, winner of the
Boonta Eve Open... Only human to ever fly a Pod Racer... right here baby!
Luke looks down the shaft. Takes a step towards it.
Darth Vader: I was wrong... You're not my kid... I don't know whose you are, but you sure ain't mine...
Luke takes a step off the platform, hesitates, then plunges down the shaft.

Spaced!... good call!... excellect series :) ...
Does anyone know if theres going to be another series of Black Books?
The Empire did win at the end of the Empire Strikes back...
(which is probalby one of the reasons why the series did so well across the public spectrum... when was the last time you saw a popular family entertainment movie where the good guys hadnt beaten the bad guys at the end of the film??)
In ROTJ... Luke had more Jedi potential than Vader... Vader was interested at one point of knocking off Palpal and having he and Luke rule... Palpal wanted to kill off Vader and replace him with Luke... Remeber Palpal was trashing Luke at the end of the battle. It was the surprise attack from Vader that did him in... Also all through the trilogy Vader had, had trouble fighting Luke...
The problem the Empires defense systems had was they they were designed for a full scale planetary assult... not a small scale, fighter attack... it was just bad design on Microsofts part :)
Also... Didnt the Tie Fighter game have the Empire win a few battles in the end?
Does anybody (like me) feel the whole Star Wars "thing" was ruined by one tiny little floor in the plot. What i am getting at here is that i feel the Imperials were to good to lose. They controlled half the galaxy (figurative speaking), knew how to build spectacular star ships and were able to destroy whole planets in one go. Compare this to the rebels. They where forced to leave an "ice base" (seroius stuff here guy's), had to setup on a small moon and had a poor farmer as there leader (in the end). A seroius mis-match or is that just me?
Even in games they lose. Although it is almost impossible to destroy Executor on X W A (the SSD). Has anybody seen the size, and strength of that thing?! Compare that to the rebels, then think!
An alternate ending
The Star Destroyers, defending the Death Star in EpisodeVI should have been ordered to attack. Not staying back as they did in the film waiting for the rebels to retreat. The Death Star then should have continued to fire, taking out the large craft systematically. The Executor, should have remained clear blocking the escape route -if they tried to escape. Even though rebel pilots are better pilots compared to Imperial ones (fact) they should have lost. The TIE (all models) is superior to the X-wing, Y-wing and any other ship you think to mention. And even if this isn't true (which it is) they were seriously out numbered.
Mean while, on the Death Star, Vader should have used his force powers when fighting Skywalker like he did in Cloud City. Meaning he wouldn't have lost. But this is coming down to skill, even if Luke was a better Jedi (sad to say this, as i feel Darth Vader is still one of the best baddies ever made) Palpaptine was still there. He could have finished Luke off easily. But because of the film (and the fact the rebels had to win) he didn't, he mistook the fact that he was still alive.
Meaning the rebels would have been wiped out, the Imperials would have either gained a Jedi, or finished off a threat and most importantly there would still have been an Imperial force, and a SSD which i like (you may have guessed this).
Note: If i was incontrol of a battle station like that i would have never made it reliant on sheild generated from a nearby planet, especially one which fury, happy bears on it! A design fault, allowing the rebels in win again.
Sheer Class.....Heh...nice one.
