Compared to Scholes.

Everyone talks about him as the most skillful player since Gazza that they have had the pleasure of playing with and I can believe it. Granted he doesn't have the same freedom he does for UTD but all the same he has missed some bloody clear cut chances that he would have buried for UTD, there was a classic example tonight.

That is no excuse. Its only because Lampard has generally had a far better season than him that he takes his role in the middle of the park, and rightly so. If Scholes plays poorly wide then there is only one solution - don't play him at all.

Fine, he was 'playing with dead meat', but Scholes has been abysmal in some of the games.

It's worth playing him, however, as there's always the chance he'll pop in and score a goal.

It's because Scholes will play anywhere. He's not particulary bothered as long as he's playing, therefore he gets stuck on the left.

I actually stand on Alastair's side in this one, Scholes hasn't impressed me internationally until this very game, and even tonight he was hardly class. Definitely not Scholes as he should be.

He still scored didn't he :P
