I aggree about the price issue. I am prepared to part with £60 quid for an outstanding game that lasts me ages, and that is what Nintendo produces most of the time. I think the Gamecube will have cheaper disks, so perhaps cheaper games as well.
I think its a pity that Nintendo did not have full third party support. I would have loved to play Final Fantasy 7 on N64, if they could have squeezed it in(It was 3 CDs) This might change with the gamecube.
The controller was a brilliant touch. Analogue control is what console games in 3D really needed. That's why I play Half-Life (on PC) with the mouse, because just keys would not be as flexible. The control setup is like an N64 joypad, setup in the standard was for goldeney. with a mouse, instead of analog stick, and keys intead of d buttons.
By the way, what was the first game that really impressed you. I think mine was Zelda:Ocarina of Time. Mario 64 and Goldeneye were good, but somehow Zelda really made me thing that Nintendo were geniuses.

well, i believe the n64 easily had the best games. only reason why it didnt sell as well as PSX is because the games on the 64 are too expensive for most people to buy. Most people see them as rip-offs. Coker was the best example of this. £60 for a game just takes the mickey. whereas all psx games are £30 or less. so u can get 2 psx games for the price of conker.
Me on the other hand prefers quantity to quality other way round i mean, and i always will pay for my quality nintendo titles.
