On these forums people build up a mental picture/opinion based on what a person writes.
If you found out that the actual person was completely different from your mental image of them, would that affect you at all?
Say Bob was a fantastic poster on here, intelligent, witty, friendly etc, then you found out at weekends he was a football holigan, for exmple, how would that affect you mental image of him?
Would you still give him the same amount of respect on here?

I'd say your appearance wouldn't make me think of you any differently. If I found out you were a different age or gender then I would think differently about you.
If I found out someone was a football hooligan then yes it would alter my respect levels towards them. If I found out somebody was a mass murderer it would alter my opinon and respect of them.
What about if you found out I was fat? would that alter your opinon of me? I think apperance of girls probably matters more to men than women, even women who are just aquaintances.
