Well, if the French win tonight we only need a draw against Croatia to go through to the quarters. Which shouldn't prove overly hard, seeing as they aren't the team they were, although still a threat.

England played marginally better, but I think both teams had very poor performances. And the ref was even worse.

Were we watching the same game?

It was a crappy game. We lost the ball way too easily. I think the performance of England shows just how important it is for us that Owen plays well.

He just wasn't there for most of the game. He had one good moment and that got us the goal.

...And a damn good game as well. England took time to settle in, and the Swiss counterattacked well, but a convincing victory. It could well have been more if Vassell responded more quickly when it was 5 vs 3 in the middle.
