And as for a metronome, CLICK click click click CLICK click click click doesn't sound as good in a song as BOOM boom boom pfft BOOM boom boom pfft.

so although it's mainly just for my timing... it's gotta fit too. And there's nothing sexier than some 16th note thrash riff with a 16th note bass drum thing below it.
In my opinion.

Well I've spent baout 20 minutes on a drum kit across my whole life so I'm just wanting something to keep time from :p

I'm just talking about something I'd download then set bass here, snare there, etc. I've got one but it only lets me do 4/4 timing... which is a bit crap really.
