Unless you've been tied up in a cupboard for the last few days you'll have seen the hype started to churn out on various websites following Sony's Official Announcement that SOCOM 3 is due to hit the stores "this fall" (it was announced in the USA, probably looking at Feb/Mar 2006 for Europe).
Features include (offline at least):
Maps 6 times bigger than previously.
Save points during missions.
Land and water-bourne vehicles which your squad can use.
Weapon customisation - 30 weapons and attachments, nearly 1000 possible combinations.
Improved AI (take out the AI leader and the AI grunts will start to flap)
Swimming.
Theatres of operation include Morocco, Poland, and Bangladesh.
Not sure if they're going to include a level whereby your squad of SEALs have to insert on Dartmoor to take down an illegal fox hunting party, more on that as it happens (or not, as the case may well turn out to be).

hopefully they'll go back to the gameplay of 1 and get rid of those mines, make it so you don't need to shoot someone about 8 times before they go down and actually include decent accurate hitboxes so when your cursor is on a guy and you fire it actually hits him.
