A quick summary...
Way better than NBA Street 2, the trick stick is awesome, the controllable game-breakers shizzle ma nizzle, visually sweet, soundtracks suck extreme peni, controls are pretty much the same (shoulder buttons for turbo), dunking contest is quality (no doubt it will bore eventually), character creation is very deep (like yo mommas ass), overall a quality game. Haven't even started the Street competitions yet, just been messsing around with Practice, Dunking and a few Exhibitions.
Oh and the Cage.
The street battles are sweet and you can't just pull off any more with any baller. If you try and trick with Shaq he screws it up most of the time. There are 3 levels of trick, turbo, turbo x2 and turbo x3. Any move which involves the x3 can only be pulled off by those who specialise if that area. Loads of depth as well, every game seems to offer something different from the previous be it by tricks or some fat ba*tard dunk sl*t who is pretty much impossible to stop when they get going.
The trick stick is excellent but you can disable it and go back to the random tricks via x. Only problem with the trick stick is the diagonal moves which usually either turn into a horizontal or vertical move, especially when you have all 3 turbo buttons held down. Might get a PS2 convert and use my PS2 pad as the 3rd turbo button on the Xbox version is f**king impossible to hook up with the shoulder buttons at times. When you want to pull of a trick in a tight area you don't really have the time to start pi**ing around trying to click L3 down as well as both shoulder buttons and also a direction on the trick stick. The PS2 layout allows 3 of the shoulder buttons to be used as turbos which as I remember with the first is really easy to use.
EA Trax suck serious ass, I mute all sounds and use my surround sound system for CD's. Really can't understand the crap selection of tracks and the absence of custom tracks. Something along the lines of the Midnight Marauders, Talib Kweli etc would suit the style of the game way more than the car crash/cheeky girls/blank w**k effort that was put into the few tracks available. When will EA learn?!
Haven't had time to play it online yet, been installing the new TV on the wall, will have a crack after the Bolton game tomorrow.
