Just about to kick off, and I noticed Roman Abramovich in amongst the Russian crowd, in his blue and white colours. Nice to see.

What is everyone expecting? I can't see anything apart from a Spain win but you can never be certain when you consider earlier's shock defeat for Portugal.

...does it really matter...?

Yeah, the ref is getting a bit carried away with himself on the decisions and cards, I can see a sending-off before this game is over.

It's been a pretty good game. For the first 35 minutes, Spain looked composed and dominated but Russia settled and looked very dangerous with a couple of good chances.

I'm a little concerned about the amount of yellow cards and the inconsistency of the decisions. Spain should have scored but it should be a good second half.

So far, Spain have been very good attacking but Morientes and Raul have not been connecting with passes well at the front.

Very good counterattacking by both sides here, but Spain have got the upper hand- Russia are playing very tenaciously, but I think Spain have got the class to win.

TORRES! TORRES! I love Athletico Madrid! Come on Spain!

I think it shall be a 2-0 win for Spain with Raul and Torres coming off the bench to seal the game for the Spaniards.
