Can't you complain ST? I would if that happened to me.
The only time we have two deliveries is Christmas week, aside from that its pointless, not enough mail to warrant that here.
We only get post three days out of the five. Our postman keeps all the mail in the back of his car so he can deliver whenever he wants probably, but tis a bit annoying that we have to wait two days without nothing. Then the next day the letter box is flooded with old mail.

HA! Second delivery. It never existed I think in the last 15 years that I've frequently had post delivered only 1 occasion did I ever get 2 deliveries.
Has anyone actually had two mail deliveries in one day? excluding items that needed to be signed for.

It's all because RM have abolished the second delivery...
Back then, your Delivery Office would get two batches of mail from the regional Mail Centre - one in the morning and another while your posties were out delivering your first round.
Now the second delivery has gone/is going, the two batches need to be consolidated as much as possible into one load. This requires more sorting time and more manpower. Unfortunately this results in the single daily delivery coming a little later than normal.
Understandably, this new roll-out is the biggest operation Royal Mail has carried out. Don't forget this whole change is happening across the entire Country so teething problems and delays are inevitable.
Things will get better, but not just yet. The network needs to trial many different strategies to pinpoint the most efficient process - which will obviously take time as it needs to be adapted by all offices with as few problems as possible.
So for now, you'll just have to put up with it.

When you get parcels and cheques all the time 5 days would not be enough :P only if you hated getting bills would you not want so many deliveries
An Post dont deliver mail on a Saturday or Sunday, never have, quite frankly Monday to Friday is enough.
