I doubt most of them are made of money and I doubt most of them buy the computers themselves

Just as a note the standard resolution for XP is 800x600 and a lot of people still like that resolution.

Its all good. Like many of you, I noticed this yesterday on the PS2 site, and started a thread in the SR Site Bugs forum.

And as I said in there, I approve of the new layout muchly.

48% still using 800 x 600? That can't be right. I check the stats of hundreds of websites of differing types and the percentage is 20% max.

It sounds rather troubling that most of the users at SR are still using 800 x 600. I mean come on you should have changed years ago.

Also I'm noting that it looks a little nicer in XP than it does in 98 and ME. If people are still using 800 x 600 then I doubt most of them will have XP.

The problem with resolutions is that 48% still use 800x600. We are planning on some extra content for the right hand white space but it needs to be done so no essential content is lost to half the people viewing our site. As for resolutions over 1600x1200 well you are in the top 1% and so we carn't spend that much time catering for you.

I already said this before guys but I quite like the design as it were. However purple just clashes with the gray. A better colour, more neutral, would be the blue you have the first post in a topic highlighted in.

I think frames would be a better idea to save download times. Also the resolution issue is a very valid one. I run 1024x768 and I get the overlapping issue that cookie monster mentioned. The higher the resolution the worse it gets. At 1920x1440 60% of the screen is just white.
