There is no place like home, and on a mildly related note, there is no console like your own...

Being a Nintendo Man myself I don't see it as possible to look at a Playstation 2, PSOne or even a Dreamcast in the same way I do my N64.

At £100 the Dreamcast is a bargain, 128 Bit, Internet Connection, Ace graphics, PSO, Shenmue, Sonic...enough said. All this and the promise of more great titles to come and yet I still cant bring myself to part with my £100 to buy a Dreamcast, and the funny thing is, I will be more than willing to splash-out a certain £260 to buy the Gamecube and 2 release games.

Why is this, I thought...it may just be because I am bias...we all are, there is no-one that can be 100% neutral. We all have our favourites and we all have our most hated.

I know in my mind that I could get a DC and 2 top titles for about £150 (New) but why can't I buy one...? I would really like to experience games like JSR, MSR, Shenmue and PSO, but I suppose that because I am so, Nintendo-Driven...in a way...I would go for the latest Rare hit like Banjo-Tooie or Conker.

So really it is rather pointless to try and get your freinds, foes and family to jump-ship. They, like me, will have their favourites and there is nothing you can do to desuade them from it. Nintendo haters, for lack of a better word, might not like Games like Banjo and Mario because of the babyish feel to them, but Nintendo might not like games like Sega Bass Fishing and Sonic because of the graphics....of course they aren't bad but they are not Nintendo style...

Even Perfect Dark was Banjo-Tooie ish with different textures and colours, and of course a different engine. The N64 just wasn't Oldish gamer friendly...of course the Gamecube, wityh games like Metroid and Too Human might change all this but YOU won't, you can show it them all you want, as I have been shown the Dreamcast but ultimately it is up to them to decide what they buy.

I wouldn't mind a DC or a PS2, but I don't think I would pay anything for them...It might just be concreted in my mind that Nintendo is what I buy...I don't think it is fate or anything like that but...I think that unless a more advanced, or more to the point, up to date console is released poeple won't jump ship too much. The PS2 saw lots of people from all platforms flee to jump on the 'bad-wagon' (Spelling Intended) of what they thought might be the most successful console, but as it turns out the PS2's launch disappointed in many areas. I don't think I would get a Dreamcast unless they were $50 and I could get -10% on top of that. Price is a big factor aswell but I don't think that much can deter people from their homeland.

I am Nintendo through and through...I wouldn't miss a Rare game for the world, and it will take a lot more than the PS2 and it's 'limitless' 3rd party support to lure me away. I am already set on getting a Gamecube...I don't quite know why but I suppose it must be to do with the fact I am a Nintendo fan, it seems as though I don't have a choice...!

I am the opposite of The Game really, as I’m a Sony fan through and through. I’m not only a Sony fan, as I also have N64 and a Dreamcast. You’re right, to me, there will be no other console that I will be behind 100% other than the Playstation2.

I got the Dreamcast because I knew I was missing out on a serious console. I have never regretted my decision in buying one because I have really got something, which was good for value. The games on it are truly stunning, although, for some odd twisted demented reason… I still prefer by Playstation2.

I know some people who can not buy say a Playstation2 because they feel they are betraying your favourite console. Don’t think this because you will miss out on fantastic gaming, and at the end of the day that’s what we want. Great games!

Don’t be put of from hat other people say, it is about you and if you like the console or not. Who knows, buying another console may lead to you appreciating your favourite console more. Whatever company fan you are, it doesn’t matter because I feel that all today’s 128 bit consoles are truly superb. Whichever one you choose, you won’t be disappointed with your decision. If you are unsure on what console to get, wait until Nintendo Gamecube and Microsoft X-Box comes out (both will be fabulous consoles that play brilliant games)

Don’t be put of from people saying that Nintendo make babyish games, because they don’t. Yes, the characters may be cute and cuddly, and have friendly surroundings, but if you actually try and complete the game, you will find out how difficult they are.
The Nintendo is a very successful company who produced some quality titles for the N64, which really set the standard for games.
You can bet that the Gamecube will be as good as the N64, even better. Have a look at some of the game footage and you will know what I mean.
The design of the console looks good as well, the handle was a surprise to me at first, but I thought, "Hey, would me better to be safe than sorry"

The handle will come in great use to me because I often take my console around my mate’s house. Also, I change where it is in the house as well. One day it will be in my bedroom, the next in the bathroom. Well, not the bathroom but you know what I mean! :D

Anyway, even if it does look ugly (which it doesn’t) look doesn’t matter that much. Yes it’s nice to have an attractive console next to your TV but that’s not all what makes up a console.

Consoles are a bit like women in a way. You have a girlfriend, and you see another girl that you like so you go off with the girl that you like. Only then do you realise just how special your original girlfriend was.
Let me put that in gaming terms: Nintendo fan, buys Playstation, likes it, but realises it’s not as good as N64. That was just an example.

So, although I’m a Sony fan, I still enjoy other consoles, and as long as I’m happy playing games, that’s all what counts!
