Seeing as I know naff all about this sort of thing, can anyone recommend a decent MP3 player around the 1Gb storage mark?

Ah, damn, I'm just inept then.

I'd choose these over standard batteries tbh...they last well over 10 hours from one charge no matter what quality stuff I'm playing and how much I flick around, and I have a spare from my knackered Zen anyway (I believe they're £29 from creative). Still, up to you, though I believe that limits you to the incredibly expensive flash based players.

Tis good, but anything that uses standard AA or AAA batteries?

I'm thinking lithium ion batteries aren't so great for long, continous car journeys.

Buy a Muvo. 4gb and tres small.

I got an Ipod It's better than mp3, but there is a downside to it.
The battery last only a year and a half, after that you need to get a
new Ipod because they don't sell the battery.

Too expensive, and isn't the smallest about 15Gb?

I'd reccommend iPod, but, despite the high quality, you can get better for less.
