So we have the mighty, unbeatable, super talented Los Angeles Lakers vs the...... ahem ...... Detroit Pistons.
The quartet of Kobe, big diesel, the glove and the mailman vs the defensive powerhouse of Ben Wallace and the jailbait of Rasheed Wallace with Richie Hamilton starting to show up when it matters at the final dance.
On paper the Lakers should walk this series easy and with the first 2 games in LA if we win both of those than that should happen. Detroit will probably be looking to snatch a win in those games to take back to Detroit for the 3 home game stretch, which if they manage to win one of the first two games could make the series a little more tricky for the Lakers then it should be.
Of course the west could just smash the east as they've done for many years now, which i of course will hope happens :-D
I used to love watching the Globetrotters who were a skillful team that actually played as a team and not individuals.
Lakers are a joke.
But let's not be harsh, Lakers are bigger than just a joke. Clearly the people playing in those games hadn't heard of the word tactics, because they screwed it up royally.
I guess Detroit deserved to be labelled "the winners of the series" though.
We gave Shaq the ball in game 2 - we won
Then for the rest Kobe decided he was going to do it all himself and we lost every single one.
Game 4 was the one that annoyed me the most, any game where Shaq scores 36 points is one we should win easily, not lose.
Detroit didn't win the series the Lakers threw it away. It was theirs for the taking and everyone but Shaq decided they didn't want it.
Lakers were extremely disappointing. In the playoff finals section they played like Real Madrid did the whole season. Get the ball to Ronaldo and hope that he can get a goal. Except that instead of Ronaldo they have the Shaq.
Exactly like that.
Shaq - 26.6
Kobe - 22.6
Fisher - 6.4
It's no good if only Shaq and Kobe play well, the supporting cast need to do their job which they didn't.
Very poor defeat, wholesale changes for next season needed. Shaq is the only one worth keeping. I'd rather have him in my team than Kobe. Give him a new contract then trade Kobe off to either Philly for Iverson or Orlando for McGrady. Then maybe we'll have a team that doesn't make the Dutch team look in perfect harmony
