Ok. So my pc is still crashing, and i havn't got a clue what's causing it. It happens usually when im playing a game or something. But only usually simple games such as flash or java, not proper games.

Also my cathode light thing, keeps flashing when i knock the PC even the slightest bit, and i turned it off.

Mine Idles at about 34 degrees, and at full load reaches maybe 45 degrees, give or take a couple of degrees, but that is cus it's got so many fans, it's like a wind turbine in my room when it's turned on, tho' it works as a great fan in summer...

Is 53-54°C ok for full load? Thats what mine does, with 43-45°C for idle.

54 is pretty high if that isnt under load, try taking the side of the case then seeing what the temps are, you could have really bad airflow through the case and the cpu HSF (heatsink and fan) is not working well so the temps when under any sort of load fly up to over 60 ish when you will probably see crashes, another cause of system crashes is the dreaded power supply, I think that the PSU is the most important part in the pc for stability, I have an ANtec True 550 watt PSU and love it, When i had a cheapo 300 watt macron PSU in my P4 setup it would crash or restart at least 3 - 4 times a week (it's on 24\7) then i "upgraded" to a 550watt Qtec (for free) and still had the odd problem with the power rails dropping and causing all sorts of problems.

You will probably start seeing crashes at 60 degrees+.

Get a heat monitoring software and run it in windows, this will tel you cpu heat, Try unplugging The cathode and any other thing that is not needed like case fans (only do this if you are sure it is not the heat) and then see if it crashes as your PSU might be crud and the rails may be dropping with the power consumption.

damn milkmen.

sounds like it is probably a heat problem or at least the PSU is iffy. Check all the fans are working okay then try cleaning all the fans (use a cotton bud) and see if that helps.

and finally check for any strange noises or smoke.
