Japan deserved to win it in the end after a pretty average performance by England. After going 1-0 up England gave the ball away very easily and conceded.
Defence looks a worry and so does the defensive midfield area which the likes of Alex found loads of space, Beckham and co were pretty poor, no running back to help out the defence and pretty much unbalanced.
Bring it on France.

We wont win Euro 2004 because we'll be in France for some strange reason.
David Beckham said we'll be looking to improve on our performance in France, and Les Ferdinand also commented that we'll need to sort out the diamond formation in France.

Nope but they definitely are so much better than in the past.. although of course France are 10 times better.
Yeah but they ain't as good as the likes of France now are they? hmmm
What's wrong with Japan? They have some real class players now and they play some fantastic football.
And people said we had a good chance of winning . . . yeah right . . . we can't even win Japan for heaven's sake; what are we gonna be like against France then when Japan were actually the better side . . . I reckon we might be out in the first round . . . GO BRASIL!!! :D
