Kazaa is just a piece of file-sharing software. It's not their fault if people use it for evil deeds.

If you say you can get any thing, doesnt that make it possible for phaedofiles to use it. It is illegal and why wouldnt Kazaa be investigated for cyber crime by allowing people to use this?

Kazaa only provide the software. Companies like the RIAA monitor it to catch users partaking in illegal activities, but they aren't directly affiliated with Kazaa itself either.

So your saying they don't check the files that people are sharing, but check the people who download it. Thats like a bank which doesnt check the money inside it but checks the customers who use it.

Kazaa accept no responsibility for any data being transferred using their filesharing software. you can get pretty much anything on there, most of it being illegal.

my friend was only warned, but considering that people in america have been sued up to $2000 each (including one unlucky 14 year old girl, or her parents anyway), it's not something to be taken lightly.

I don't download films, mainly because the quality is generally crap, they take years to download, and I'd rather rent them from blockbuster.

I download music occasionally, and some adult media, but that's it.

Why? your friend has been caught but still continues to do it. If Kazaa knew would'nt they ban the pirate movies on the place?
