The new series starts tonight so if anyone's got anything to say, then this is the thread to say it. :)

I really don't think it'll be very good this year to be honest, it seems very 'manufactured' and it's going to be filled with complete knobs. Hopefully it'll be decent but I doubt it.

True but when you think about how ill informed the public are on matters, isn't it best left that way?

No, I agree. Especially with elections coming up where what 20-25% of country will vote? Yet millions text in who they like most in a stupid house.

I'm only saying I used to get shouty and angry, now I just try and ignore it.

I'll be watching the half hour shows. From the characters they've put in, there should be a fair bit of conflict :) To tell someone to 'get a life' I think that should be left to those true fanatics who'll be watching it almost religously on E4/online for the next three months. You know the type, hour after hour, throughout the day every day. Their choice I suppose.

'Mangas' are Japanese comics, 'animes' are Japanese animations. It's a common (or use to be, not so much now both retail stores and the media now refer to it correctly) misconception among British teenage boys in the 1990ies.

Oh and I don't like soaps.

And what annoys me is people that make this argument.

“Reality TV”

No, it’s not. It is 12 people ranging from intelligent people to Jade Goody so desperate for fame that they will go and make idiots of themselves on national TV.

It is mild entertainment. I do agree that I don’t like having it rammed down my throat from every paper, TV show and member of the public that I talk to over the next few months. But I do myself watch the half hour shows.

It doesn’t make me any less of an intelligent person then you.

Some people like to watch Soaps. I don’t.
Some people like to watch Manga. I don’t.
Some people like to watch horse racing. I don’t. But, just because I don’t like to watch these programs it doesn’t mean that all those that do are tw*ts.

It's what ever blows your frock up.

I'd just like to say no one speaks on my behalf, although I used to watch the earlier ones out of pure curiousity, I have no intent in watching this "new and improved" version and would like to see a lot less reality programs on our television. I would like to see Channel 4 do a little more with their programming than reality shows and repeats of sitcoms from the States.

No, I forgot it was on. Turned on channel 4 and saw a load of a ugly and annoying people sitting in a house and turned off. It annoys me that the nation is retarded enough to make this crap popular, what redeeming features does this garbage have for you fools?

Seriously guys, get a life.

So even though they were leeching off Friends, a whopping 2,200,000 switched over when BB5 started. It's average wasn't even good enough to beat last years which many would argue was the worst BB to date.

"Big Brother 5 pulled in an average 6.7 million viewers and a peak audience of 7.2 million on its opening night.

Last year the launch programme drew an average audience of 6.9 million - its highest ever for a first night."
