ive been asked by someone to prove a point. Basically, there is apparantly someone who is using two accounts on msn and mucking my buddy about.

Shes asked me if there is something I can make that will crash their PC (with no side effects) or similar so that both names go offline at the same time and prove the point.

I dont want anything viral, or wormish. Cos, that'd just be cruel.

I either want something that will cause the screen to lock up, or some code (VBasic) that will reboot the machine. Kinda emulate the blaster virus warning message. I dont know whether this is even legal, so please delete this message if it is.

Also, I was thinking, I could always open Paint x100, cos that'd kill any PC. But wats the code to open paint?

No Offense, but shelling to a program is not really programming.

This could have been done using Notepad and saving it as a batch.

well, my paint thingy worked. The girl who my m8 was talking to opened the file, conveniently named "Muse Game Part 1 of 3.exe" and both accounts went offline. Think someone's life is ruined. O well, I do my best.

Anyway, I did some searching, and i managed all the locking stuff and shut downs. But, they dont have the same effect as paint being opened an impossible number of times, lol.

Create a program which just processes random numbers? Get it so it does it sh fast as to hog the CPU causing a crash. You friend could just find out there IP however, send each MSN login a file, and do a netstat to see what IPs you are sending to.

If you have XP, Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger can run at the same time with different accounts.

He's probably not running two PCs though. You can get loads of programs that allow you to run two different msn accounts at once.

There are a number of ways of crashing and stalling the PC, hell you could just search for some code that just shuts it down for you.

I have to ask how this little idea will work though; assuming the guy with two MSN accounts running simultaneously is running two computers, what are the chances that he would receive two similarly sized files, and execute them both at the same time thus catching him out?

or run a full screen program, lock the start menu, keyboard and mouse and run an infinite loop.

you could just hog all the Heap memory or something uncreative like that. just look up an API page and pick one that does something key and mess with it.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
