I won't go into a big essay about this, but to me, Piracy seems to be so casual, it might as well be bloody legal! We have a big-ish Computer Fair come to the local Sports Centre every Month. Among all the expected computer-related traders, there are up to 4-5 stands selling nothing but pirate movies and games. These fairs are not exactly invitation-only, so any old copper could stroll in and see this in action. It's unbelievable!

Even worse than that, is the large number of Car boot sales areound the area every Sunday. You are guaranteed to find at least 5 stands at each of these CBSales. This is crazy. Why this lot haven't been nicked yet is beyond me :D

These pirates even have copies of movies not even out here, like Hellboy!

Is this the case where you live? Either these pirates are incredibly jammy, or there is a huge piracy ring going on that is making it hard for cops to place arrests.

It's fooked up. No wonder the Movie Industry is on the downward direction...

Heh, ironic isn't it? There's all this blab about how Piracy needs to be stopped, yet no-one seems to be doing anything about it - they're even contributing towards it :D

I know it won't happen, but what if Piracy actually kills an industry like Music or Movies? How will those pirates feel then? Knowing they're responsible for no-one ever seeing a new movie again or listening to a new song?

That's the extreme, who's to say it won't go that far?

We have a big open air market in Southmead here in Bristol and pirated DVD's & Video Games are openly available on at least 10 stalls that I know of!!! Coppers walk around the market acting as security and do nothing about these stalls!! I've even seen officers of the law BUYING THEM!!!!

Yeah, I used to be able to track most mobile games down on the net for free. I don't bother with mobile games anymore - mainly because there isn't much available for the phone I now have.

For true indifference to piracy check out the mobile gaming scene.

ALL the games I can buy for my Motorola V600 lite (flashes / flexed v300) are freely avaialble on the web, in yahoo groups or on a site called rousso
(part full address, since Sr sell java stuff)

Just because a game is 3 quid and under 150k, it seems as if the rules do not apply.

Still, since it takes a matter of seconds to download and reupload to a handset, and no demos of the games (apart from online emulators) exists, it allows for a great "Try And Buy".

I have: -

Tetris
MotoGP
Ferrari experience
EA Sports FIFA Football 2004
Gulos Tale
iTanx
Caveman
sk8trix
tomnjerry
wax Snow
Zoys rescue mission 1
Zoys Rescue Mission 2
Four3D
GhostPlanet
Goldminer
Pioo
Rollerblade
Samurai Showdown
Virtual Pilot
Amaio Skateboard
minigolf
mukisworld
bomberman
chess
soccerManager
RacingFever
Benchmark
XXX
Texas Poker trainer
Flintstones grocery Hunt
CastleVania
MetalSlug
SplinterCellOne

Which are all naff, and

Ancient Empires
Alpha Wing
Nightmare Creatures
Skate And Slam
Call of duty
Crash N Burn
pitfall
Rayman3
RingFantasy
SoccerUnlimited
Monopoly
Stuntman
Summer Games 2004
XIII
YoyoFighter
Prince of Persia - Sands Of Time
Prince Of Persia - Haream Adventures
Bejeweled
Detonate
DragonIsland
jamdat bowling
Solitare
MD Pro Soccer
Siberian Strike (spanish)
Tomb Raider - Elixer of Life
Fantasy Warrior
SplinterCellPandoraTomorrow
Splinter Cell (extended ops)
Chessmaster
Collin McRay Rally
Micromachines
Sexy Poker 2004

Which I have previously downloaded, and since each is no more than 4 quid, bought as they are pretty cool to play on the bus. :)
