The anthology is coming out on 31st August 2004 in softback at most large bookshops.
The poem, which I've posted here before, is called Politics:
Damned by dreams that emasculate, whichever thoughts grow fond
A ritual that once grew great, before the broken bonds
Elevated past darkened doubt. Tattooed by streetlight fraud
The taxman knocks, reasons without. Civilian levy duly stored
Forgetting sinful syntax, forging sentences of stealth
Intricately evading tax and procuring piles of wealth.
To save their seats politicians lie, give bribes they don’t resent
With starving hunger babies cry
Whilst income tax is sorely spent
Witness wily officials in their Jaguars
Diamonds nested in wife’s ears
Then see taxpayers in economy cars
They saved for years and years
Will no one break the circle of lies
And do the country a favour
Recall the day democracy died
The birthday of New Labour
If you happen to see a copy of the book, do buy it, the money all goes into publishing more work by unrecognised poety and authors.
If you want a copy of the book signed, just post me it. :-)
I sent a poem off to Forward Press, and they sent a letter back saying it'd be published. My friend sent one off, and also will have it published. After trying places like the scamtastic poetry.com, I'm starting to wonder whether these poems really are selected on merit, as opposed to just being chosen because they've been sent in.
I suppose this was what started to make me question how legitimate it is:
http://www.asa.org.uk/adjudications/show_adjudication.asp? [SPACE] adjudication_id=32558&from_index=by_ [SPACE] issue&dates_of_adjudications_id=all
Are they really publishing these poems on merit, or are they just publishing anything that isn't unreadable? I'd like to be able to say I've had poetry published, but I'd also like to say that I had it published by a respected publisher.
Is my curiosity getting the better of me, or is something really amiss?

Men wear that stuff now?! Spose the immediate thought that'd pop to mind, would be, "camp".. ;)

Well living in Leeds I have four options of attire
1. The ever-common scally attire (tracksuits, bling and suchlike)
2. Poser clothes (£90 Prada shoes, sleeveless tops and overpriced diesel jeans)
3. Smart clothes, shirts with dark jeans or whatever (which I wear to go out)
4. Casual clothes like hoodies, baggies and stuff.
I think that the second option is a lot more queer than the clothing choices I make.
So, Clazon, what do you generally wear? Tell me so I can make immature little comments about you.
