Well just spent 3 hours fixing this guys comp.
Found 15 spyaware on it, some which included Cydoor and EDO exploit.
Had to delete the exploit one through the registry because the programs just couldn't remove it. I had to go through all 9 of the registry keys it made and delete them.
You wouldn't think I only built his comp 2 weeks ago would ya.
He will soon learn.

1. Check windows update everyday
2. If you download through kazaa make sure you turn on filter any potential files with viruses
3. Check for Firewall updates everyday (sygate has new signature files now and again)
4. Check for new virus definitions everyday,

Anyway, I don't like Norton that much. There is no doubt that it is an excellent anti virus, but it is like and infant child who mus**t be spoon fed information. It also wants to scan everything in sight and is bascially a pain in the ass. Sygate is an easy to use professional firewall that gives me a lot more options with a no sh*t layout.

I don't know, i have always used Norton, it does it's job.
Have you got the windows firewall turned on or off?
I found it caused more problems having it on, for example it would let me netowork the computer, it just blocked them.

Oh, and Sygate is a better firewall.
I have two firewalls.
Norton Firewall and
Sygate Personal Firewall

If people get a virus i tend not to help them.
It's their own fault, they should of got a firewall ect.
For example, i built my mate a system 2 weeks ago, its now back at my house because he has a virus restarting his computer at any random time.
He ask me to fix it, so it's now costing him £5.
He will learn next time.
