ah, but memphis belle was pretty much all flying, and I enjoyed that.

That's why Pearl Harbo(u)r was so crap - too much flying.

they better damn well not do that surf boards thing. that's how they ruined the fight at the end of matrix revolutions. flying through the air does not make a fight look good.

Anyhoo, the new name. "Episode III : Fond childhood memories, squeeling like pigs."

I really wish I could look forward to not having to see Jar Jar Binks, C3PO or R2D2 in the next one. In Attack of the Clones C3PO was so camp it made me want to pull my eyes out.

What would be excellent is if they bought it right up to date, just as Princess Leia is escaping on that ship at the beginning of IV. Just jump 20 years ahead at the end, or something like that.

I'm looking forward to seeing Anakin turn completely evil in the third one. The fight between Obi Wan and Anakin should be excellent, a great many Jedi will be killed off. It should have a very dark and hopeless atmosphere to it, setting it up nicely before 'A new hope'.

What's the deal with that half-robot half-Jedi toy in the third one - is he, like, Robocop, or something? Sounds like a Borg. Not Benny Bjorg though.

From reading the spoilers it appears to be more of the same - introduce a bunch of new bad guys that mean nothing to us and have the good guys fight against them until the inevitable happens.

When will they learn, the bad guy needed to survive from movie to movie, have something significant occur.

One of the best things about the original trilogy, is that Darth Vader is the bad guy throughout, there are major revelations about him, he's a solid character. With the new ones who have we got? Darth Maul could have worked, but no, we learnt nothing about him ,and they killed him off at the end of the first movie. So they bring in Jango Fett, and he lasts half a movie. Count Dooku? He won't last sufficiently long enough to matter in the third.

Same with James Bond movies these days. It was better when Blofeld kept getting away to come back with more sinister plots - these days they struggle to come up with bad guys that matter - if only they got away every now and again, over a few movies they can be built into a sinister threat...
