I downloaded a 168Mb file of what I thought was a porn film, but I should have looked at the extentsion, and instead of a Windows Media Player file it was an application, an MSDOS type thing. Anyway I double cliced (more retardedness) on it and it formed a window, then disappeared. Then I trie to delete it, but it was having none of it and said it could not be deleted since it was either write protected or may be in use. Now, it isn't write protected, and I did Ctrl, Alt, Del and checked out every process, and none of them was it, they were all kosher. Basically I just want to delete it, if you can help then many thanks.

A lesson learnt :) Glad you deleted it though, I hate things like that, until I whip out my deletion skills (Recycle bin>msconfig>run away)

Lol..

Cool.

Don't download porn in future. Without looking at its file name

Well anyway I got it deleted. Basically, I had tried going into Safe Mode and going into my account then trying to delete it before, but this time I went into "Administrator" then went through C: and deleted it. Which worked.

Erm, I think norton and stuff do a few force deleting programs, so it cant survive. Get ad-aware and scan for spyware, try removing it from the start-up tab.. (Start>Run>msconfig) Hope that helps you!

Annoying when this happens, it isnt anything serious. You should be able to delete from it via DOS while still in Windows. If not then just reboot and delete it as normal after Windows has rebooted.

I get this problem from files/folders at times, must be something in Windows thats doesnt let go of the file/folder that doesnt allow you to delete it. I dont download of Kazaa so its not a problem with files from there, but files in general. Sometimes you can briefly run into this problem if you have a big video file that you try to drag into a folder.

Go into DOS, before loading the computer, and delete the file that way.
If safe mode doesnt work.
