Using the Sandra 2004 utility, I ran the

"CPU Arithmetic Benchmark"

Results:

Dhrystone ALU: 10287 MIPS
Whetstone FPU/iSSE2: 4444/7762 MFLOPS

Performance Rating: 4732

It, er, died... Had to clear the CMOS, which I hate doing, but all is well now.

I think the 800FSB makes a massive difference, and the hyperthreading on the 800FSB processors.

Try it and see what you get

If I overclock to 2.6GHz:

SiSoftware Sandra

Benchmark Results
Dhrystone ALU : 6685MIPS
Whetstone FPU : 1919MFLOPS
Whetstone iSSE2 : 3496MFLOPS

Performance Rating : PR2869

I'll try 2.8 but the system may crash, I'm not sure how stable it is at that speed.

I want to see how it fares against the AMD fan boys' toys...
